Student Advisory Board

SAB
The Student Advisory Board is the voice of students at Tompkins Cortland Community College. Its mission is to advocate, represent, and value the diversity of the student body, and its concerns, with leadership, honesty, and integrity. Meet some of our current SAB members.

Why join SAB?

To ensure that the voice of the student body is heard, not only by other students, but by the entire College community.

What is an SAB Senator, and can I become one?

SAB Senators serve as advocates for the student body; acts as liaisons between the student body, College faculty, and College administration; and promote participation in SAB and its programs.

There are some eligibility requirements for senators, including taking a minimum of six credits and being in good academic and judicial standing.

What are the other roles in SAB?

In addition to Senator-at-Large, the SAB has a President, Vice-President of Finance, Vice-President of Communication, Vice-President of Student Services, Co-Vice-President of Student Involvement, and a Parliamentarian/Historian.

Each of those positions has specific roles that may suit your strengths and interests.

TC3 Student Trustee

In addition to the Student Advisory Board, a student representative also sits as a full voting member of the College Board of Trustees. The Student Trustee  serves as a liaison between the Trustees, the Student Advisory Board, and the student population.
