Representatives are elected during the spring and fall semesters. Candidates are expected to be attending classes on the Dryden campus, paid an activity fee and be willing to devote time and energy into making our community one that has a strong, student interest based direction. Meetings are held once a week — on Fridays at noon in the Student Advisory Board Office, Room 114. In addition to the Student Advisory Board, a student representative also sits as a full voting member of the College Board of Trustees. This representative is elected during the spring semester election process and serves during the following academic year. The Student Trustee serves as a liaison between the Trustees, the Student Advisory Board and the student population. In addition to their formal structure, the Student Advisory Board also provides opportunity for students to become involved in specific issues and ad hoc committees. The college has a strong interest in hearing the student perspective on such diverse issues as parking, hiring, health and safety, curriculum and program development. Committee assignments may last an entire academic year or can conclude after a few brief meetings. All students who serve on committees are appointed through the Student Advisory Board. TC3 is embarking on a period of change. New construction, new planning strategies to determine the direction of the college's future and expansion of program offerings have created a deep need for student voices to be heard. We urge you to get involved and advocate for your community. For more information on student government, visit the SAB office in Room 114 on the Dryden campus. You can also reach the SAB by phone at 607.844.8222, Ext. 4384 or by E-mail. |
