BUY A BRICK…BUILD A SCHOOL – Fundraiser for Ariang School, village near the town of Gogrial, Bhar El Ghazal region, South Sudan-October 18- November 18  between 10AM-2PM  In front of the Office of Multicultural Services

International Education Week Photo Exhibit, 2nd floor Photo Gallery. Open to all and accepting submissions.(Contact Melinda Slawson at slawsom@tc3.edu for theme and details for submitting digital photos or prints.)

“Thinking of Studying Abroad?” Table –Speak to faculty trip leaders and returned students about studying abroad; Main Entrance.

International Trivia Contest – drawing  from among the correct answers for a Grand Prize on Friday at noon.

Where are we from? – Map of the world that has highlighted countries represented by TC3 students. Room 230/The Global Initiatives Office.

Monday (11/15)

9 – 11 AM -  International Bake Sale – near the Main Entrance/Information Desk (to benefit the Dryden Food Pantry.)

12- 2 PM - International Talent Table – The Student Center. Henna tattooing, have your name written in characters or script in another language, music, etc. 
(to benefit the Dryden Food Pantry.)

6:30 PM - International Soccer Tournament, Borg Warner Field House. Open to all. (Sign-up in Room 230.)

4  - 6:00 PM- KEYNOTE EVENT – REBUILDING HOPE

Gabriel Bol Deng
Gabriel was 10-years-old when North Sudanese Arab militiamen led a violent attack on his village in South Sudan.
In 2001 he came to the U.S. with other Sudanese refugees (The Lost Boys) and subsequently earned associate and bachelor’s degrees from Onondaga Community College and Lemoyne College, respectively. In 2007,Gabriel returned to South Sudan after 20 years to search for his family, a journey documented in the film 'Rebuilding Hope’. Upon his return, he founded Helping Offer Primary Education (HOPE) for Sudan with a mission to provide educational opportunities and health services to Sudanese people adversely affected by political turmoil in Sudan. H.O.P.E for Ariang is raising money to build a primary school in Ariang.

Panel discussion featuring both international students and US students who have experienced the educational system in other countries, we hope to have a revealing discussion that will give insight on what’s working, what’s challenging and what’s unique in education around the world.
