The Panther Fitness Challenge is collaborative TC3 program that provides TC3 faculty, staff, adjuncts, and students an exciting opportunity to improve their health through friendly team competition.
Physical Fitness will be measured, and team and individual prizes awarded, according to the following health parameters.
- Weight loss
- Cardiovascular endurance
- Physical strength
All participants will be challenged to improve cardiovascular endurance and physical strength during the 10 week program. Weight loss goals will be determined by each contestant with consultation with his/her coach and other PFC staff. For some contestants, significant weight loss may NOT be the primary goal. For others, losing body fat may be central to their participation in the PFC.
Participation in mind/body workshops, personal training, fitness challenges, and nutrition counseling, and weekly weigh-ins is mandatory. Participants will be selected by PFC staff for their potential to actively engage in the Panther Fitness Challenge as a teammate and desire to attain a healthy lifestyle. Participants may be of all levels of health and fitness, but should consult with a physician before engaging in physical activity.
Participation in the Panther Fitness Challenge is $40 per student, $100 for faculty, staff, and adjuncts. Some support for students in need may be available. Fitness Center membership (free for students) required.
Prizes will be awarded to the most improved team and individual.
