TC3 Child Care Center
The TC3 Child Care Center provides is open to TC3 students, staff, and community members. The Center is licensed by the New York state Department of Social Service and is an educational resource center, complete with a toddler classroom, preschool classroom, a room for quiet activities, and a fenced in outdoor play area.
Sliding Scale Fees
Fees are calculated on a sliding scale based on family size and annual income. Parents are contracted for the hours of care needed based on their class schedule and study time. Prompt payment is required to maintain your child's place in the program. Eligible parents may have their fee paid by the Department of Social Services or apply for child care subsidy through the child care office. A grant is available from the TC3 Foundation, Inc.
A True Learning Environment
The Center provides a place for children to learn and interact with each other. Activities are designed to meet the needs of each child and are geared to age and developmental level. There is a toddler class for children ages 2 and 3 and a preschool class for children ages 3 to 5.
Preschool activities include, creative art, math, outdoor play, music, cooking, science, language, and rest time.
A separate program for toddlers is designed to enhance the development of 2-year olds. Toddler programs include activities that stimulate thinking and emotional growth, large motor skills, social play, language development, outdoor play, rest time, and music materials used are specifically selected for 2-year olds.
Operating Schedule
The center is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the regular college calendar. Summer sessions will be offered based on enrollment. The center is closed when classes are not in session.
Food
The center participates in the Department of Health's Child and Adult Care Food Program. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided to the children without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, sex, or disability. Parents can bring in special treats for their child's birthday (no candy or gum).
Location
The center is located in the northeast corner (first floor) of the campus. There is a toddler classroom, a preschool classroom, a room for quiet activities, and outside fenced in play areas. The center is licensed by the New York state Department of Social Services.
Staff
We provide professionally trained and experienced staff with assistance from TC3 students. A nurse consultant makes necessary visits and serves as a resource for the teachers when medical questions arise. TC3 security is available for first aid and emergency situations.
