Welcome to TC3

Dear Student Athlete,
Welcome! The Athletic Department wants you to have a fulfilling and successful academic and athletic experience at Tompkins Cortland. We also want all student athletes to understand the College community’s expectation of behavior both when you are competing and in other contexts. TC3 student athletes are high profile members of our community and their behaviors reflect upon the College.

The NJCAA and TC3 Athletics have established a standard of behavior and conduct for all student athletes participating in the intercollegiate athletics program at TC3. These standards (see attached Code of Conduct) emphasize the importance and significance of sportsmanship, appropriate conduct, and the responsibilities that each student athlete must accept when representing the College on an intercollegiate athletics team. These standards are in addition to those set forth in the TC3 Catalog and Student Handbooks.

One of the main goals of the TC3 Athletics program is to prepare you for the “next level.” For some, this may mean helping you achieve your dream of playing a sport at a four-year college. For others it may mean finding a great job after graduation from your program of study here at TC3. Whichever direction you may be headed, please know that all the members of the Athletics Department and all the faculty & staff at TC3 want to give you the necessary tools to help you succeed.

It is important that you know that we make it a priority to be available for you when you need us for any reason and hope that you take advantage of this service. Without you, there would be no reason for us to have our program.

I speak for our entire campus community when I say we look forward to working with you and hope that your experience at TC3 is both exciting and rewarding, both inside and outside of the classroom.

Yours in sport,

Mick McDaniel
