Panthers Hang Tough in Loss

Auburn—After leading most of the first half, the TC3 women's basketball team ran out of gas, falling 76-54 at Cayuga Community College Wednesday. The loss drops TC3 to 6-14 overall and 1-6 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference.
 
The Panthers played a strong first half, leading for most of the way before the home team moved in front in the closing minutes to take a 37-36 lead into the break. After keeping it close early in the second half, the Panthers' short bench helped fatigue set in as Cayuga pulled away for the win.
 
Jenn Iler (Owego Free Academy/Apalachin) had another stand-out game, scoring 20 points to go with six rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Nicole Reid (Southern Cayuga H.S./Aurora) added 12 points and Alyssa Drake (Moravia H.S./Locke) pulled down 10 rebounds.
 
Tiffany Collinsworth paced the home team with 26 points.
 
TC3 returns home Saturday to take on nationally-ranked Finger Lakes Community College at 1 p.m.
