Onondaga Trips Up TC3 Women

Dryden— The TC3 women's basketball team came up short Saturday, falling to Mid-State Athletic Conference rival Onondaga Community College 76-49. The Panthers fall to 6-13 overall and 1-5 in the MSAC. Onondaga improves to 13-6 overall and 4-2 in conference.
 
Onondaga jumped on the home team from the opening tip, scoring the game's first 13 points. TC3 finally found the net just over five minutes into the game, but the Lazers responded by scoring the next nine points to take a commanding 24-2 lead. The bulge grew to 30 before settling at 41-16 at the break.
 
The second half saw TC3's offense perform better, shooting 39% from the floor compared to 12% for the first half, but the Panthers couldn't close the gap.
 
Jenn Iler (Owego Free Academy/Apalachin) led TC3 with 14 points while Nicole Reid (Southern Cayuga H.S./Aurora) added 11 points. Tasha Chamberlain (Elmira Free Academy/Elmira) led the team on the boards with 10 rebounds.
 
Onondaga's Tricia Allen led all scorers with 19 points.
 
TC3 travels to Auburn Wednesday to take on Cayuga Community College.
