Panthers Fall in Spartan Opener

Auburn—The TC3 women’s basketball dropped the opener of the Cayuga Spartan Classic Saturday, losing to SUNY Cobleskill 79-48. The Panthers are now 2-4 on the season.
 
The game opened with SUNY Cobleskill dominating play, cruising to a 37-13 lead at the half. The second frame opened with TC3 making a run to close the gap, but the Panthers ran out of gas as Cobleskill pulled away to the easy win.
 
Jenn Iler (Owego Free Academy/Apalachin) led TC3 with 12 points. Meghan Taylor (Delaware Academy/Delhi) finished with a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds and Alyssa Drake (Moravia H.S./Locke) added 11 points.
 
The Panthers take on Niagara County Community College in the consolation game Sunday at noon.
