Panthers Topple Delhi for Second Straight WinDryden—The TC3 volleyball team picked up its second straight time, topping SUNY Delhi Wednesday. After dropping the first game, the Panthers won the next three to claim the match. Game scores were 26-30, 30-16, 30-26, and 30-27. The win improves TC3 to 5-9 while Delhi falls to 2-10.
After a sloppy game one, TC3 dominated game two to even the match. Game three turned when the Panthers went on an 11-2 run, changing an 11-14 deficit into a commanding 22-16 lead. The final game was a hard fought battle, with TC3 opening an early 7-0 lead. A Delhi rally gave the visitors a 16-11 lead. Delhi held the lead until freshman Jessica Page (Afton High/Afton) took over serve with TC3 trailing 17-19. Four straight service points gave TC3 the lead, but Delhi came back to tie the game at 23, 24, and 25 points each. From 25-25, TC3 scored the next two, taking the lead for good.
Page continued her impressive serving, firing 11 aces to go with a season-best 17 assists. Sheena Adger (East High/Rochester) pounded out 13 kills and 7 aces. Lareina DeMarco (Rome Free Academy/Lee Center) had a balanced night with 7 dig, 6 aces and 3 kills while Natalie DeCara (Millbrook/Clinton Corners) went for 7 digs and 6 kills.
TC3 takes to the road this weekend. The Panthers play Saturday at Fulton-Montgomery Community College at 4 PM and Sunday at Herkimer County Community College at 1 PM.
