Panthers Pick Up Win #28

Box

Watertown—The Tompkins Cortland Community College softball team improved to 28-3 overall on the season with an 8-3 win at Jefferson Community College Wednesday evening. The two teams couldn't get the second game of the scheduled doubleheader in due to lightning. TC3 is now 18-1 in region while Jefferson is 9-16 overall and 7-14 in region.

Mackenzie Sherlock (Paul V. Moore H.S./Central Square) struck out 13 while earning the win in the circle. She improves to 10-2 on the season, becoming just the third TC3 pitcher ever to post double-digit wins in two seasons. She won 11 games last year as a freshman. Karrie Snyder (Newfield H.S./Newfield) led the attack by going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Samijo Scheer (Corning East H.S./Corning) also had two hits, going 2-for-3 with one RBI. Katie Ducharme (C.W. Baker H.S./Syracuse) had an unusual line: 0-for-0 with two runs scored, a walk, a hit-by-pitch, a sacrifice, and two stolen bases.

TC3 closes out the regular season at home Saturday against Alfred State College. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
