TC3 Rolls to Win Over Adirondack

Dryden—The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's basketball team rolled to a big win Sunday behind a team effort that saw six players score in double figures and the team shoot better than 50% from the floor. The Panthers rolled past SUNY Adirondack 96-74 to improve to 2-5 on the season. Adirondack falls to 2-4.
 
The game started quickly for the home team, with the Panthers racing to an early lead. Three-pointers by Jailaan Kinsey (Jamesville-Dewitt H.S./Dewitt) and Damani Ashton (Mount Vernon H.S./Mount Vernon) capped a 13-2 run to start the game. Adirondack rebounded and pulled to within three at 22-19 midway through the half, but the Panthers responded. A rebound and bucket by James Tucker (Saratoga Springs H.S./Saratoga Springs) started a 19-4 rally that included two dunks and ten points by Tucker. The Panthers continued to stretch the lead to the end of the half, taking a 52-29 advantage into the locker room. The lead would get no smaller than 19 points the rest of the game as the Panthers cruised to the win.
 
For the game, TC3 made 50.7% from the floor and 74.2% from the free throw line. Bryce Elie (Queens H.S. of Teaching/Queens) was the team's leading scorer with 19 points, just missing a double-double with nine rebounds. Tyrone Clark (Elmira Free Academy/Elmira) had 14 points, seven steals, five assists, and four rebounds. Tucker had 13 points, including 12 in the first half, to go with six rebounds. Kinsey had 13 points and a team-high six assists, and Jamell Walker (Mount Vernon H.S./Mount Vernon) had 13 points and six rebounds. Ashton finished with 12 points.
 
After a break for Thanksgiving, the Panthers play at Herkimer County Community College Wednesday, November 30.
