Panthers Blank Broome

Dryden—The Tompkins Cortland Community College men's soccer team improved to 2-0 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference with a 2-0 win over Broome Community College Tuesday. TC3, ranked #7 in the nation, is now 7-1 overall and in Region III while Broome drops to 4-5-1 overall, 3-5-1 in region, and 2-3-0 in the MSAC.
 
The first score came late in the first half. With under three minutes left in the half, Samir Naamane (Casablanca, Morocco) found Mikki Brown (Greene H.S./Greene), who played a perfect cross to Curtis Irland (Mynderse Academy/Seneca Falls) for the score. The second tally came midway through the second half, when Naamane played a through ball to Edem Wemene (Nottingham H.S./Syracuse), who beat the keeper at the top of the box for the score.
 
Brian Wagstaff (Chenango Valley H.S./Apalachin) earned the shutout in goal.
 
The Panthers host Cayuga Community College Thursday at 4 p.m.
