TC3 Panthers
Men's Basketball: 2012-13

2012-13 Coaches

Head Coach David Stevenson

MSAC Coach of the Year
2010

Coach Stevenson enters the 2012-13 season firmly entrenched as the most successful coach in the history of the TC3 men's basketball program. Over the last nine years on the bench, Coach Stevenson has put his stamp on the men's basketball program at TC3, first setting school records for wins in 2007-08 and then smashing those records in 2010-11. Stevenson joined the staff as an assistant in 2003-04, bringing a strong work ethic and knowledge of the game to the floor each night. He is well known for caring for his students both on and off the court, tracking academic progress as well as developing basketball skills. He has worked hard to bring quality players into the program, and to help those players continue their careers at the four-year level. In his time with the program, he has helped players earn scholarships to Drake University in Iowa and Avila University in Kansas. His former players have also shown up on the rosters at Buffalo State, Oneonta State, SUNY Fredonia, and Daniel Webster College in New Hampshire. A former standout athlete at Trumansburg High and a college baseball player, Coach Stevenson is a highly visible member of the staff both on and off campus.

Assistant Coach Brian Carroll

The 2012-13 season will mark Coach Carroll's fourth on the bench for the Panthers. He joined the staff after completing his own two-sport college career, playing basketball at SUNY Brockport before transferring to TC3 to play baseball. As a part of the basketball staff last year, he used his own experience as a standout backcourt player to help coach one of the strongest group of guards in the region. He brings an understanding of the game from a recent player's perspective and is extremely valuable in his ability to assist with in-game adjustments.

Assistant Coach Richard Echevarria

Coach Echevarria returns for his second season with the Panthers coaching staff in 2012-13. He brings great experience both as a player, having played for the Panthers while earning his TC3 degree in sport management, and as a coach, having coached on the AAU level and at several camps. He is also an IAABO official for six years, working basketball games on the high school and college level. With TC3, Coach Echevarria assists in all aspects of the program, with particular emphasis on recruiting, strength and fitness training, and defense.
