Captains Council & Athletics Advisory Board
Explanation of Purpose, Elections and Operations
The Captains Council & Athletics Advisory Board is comprised of TC3 students, faculty, and staff. Board members will be appointed/selected for two-year terms. A member elected each year will chair the Board. The Chair shall vote only when necessary to decide a tie.
The Board shall conduct appropriate reviews and engage in such other activities as will enable it to advise the FSA President and Dean of Student Life on such intercollegiate athletics program matters as:
A. Planning for intercollegiate athletics participation
B. Funding for intercollegiate athletics programs
C. Standards and policies for student participation in intercollegiate athletics
D. Preparation of monthly reports for the intercollegiate athletic program
E. Other matters appropriate to its purview referred to it by the Dean of Student Life
F. Advising the Director of Athletics in regard to new facility construction
On occasion, it may be necessary for the members of this committee to investigate programs at other colleges. Therefore, this committee should be budgeted for on an annual basis.
The Board will consist of AT LEAST eight members, including a student-athlete from each varsity team, and faculty and adminstrative representatives. A quorum will be four (4) voting members, and the Captains Council & Athletics Advisory Board will report to the FSA President at the FSA Board meeting.
