Sinnigen and Kendall Named All Region

Tompkins Cortland Community College sophomores Sara Sinnigen (Dryden H.S./Dryden) and Mercedes Kendall (Union-Endicott H.S./Endicott) have been voted to the NJCAA Region III all-region women’s soccer team. Sinnigen was voted to the first team as a defender and Kendall made second team at midfield. A total of 26 players were honored between first and second teams in voting by the coaches in Region III, the largest region in the nation.
Sinnigen led a TC3 defense that allowed posted eight shutouts in 16 games. She was a two-year team captain and started all 16 games this season. She scored four goals and had two assists, finishing sixth on the team in scoring despite playing most of her time in the defensive end.
Kendall split time between midfield and defense and was fourth on the team in scoring with six goals and five assists. She had a pair of strings of three straight games with at least one point, helping TC3 to a 4-1-1 mark in those games.
TC3 finished the year with a record of 10-5-1. The Panthers advanced to the playoffs for the ninth-straight year, advancing to the semifinal round.
This also marks the ninth-straight year TC3 has been represented on the all-region team, and the eighth time during that span with multiple selections.
