Nominations Sought for TC3 Panther Hall of FameDecember 13, 2012
The Tompkins Cortland Community College athletic department is seeking nominations for the Panther Hall of Fame. The hall recognizes former athletes, coaches, and contributors for their performance and support of TC3 athletics.
The Panther Hall of Fame was established in 1999 as a way to pay tribute to people with special connections to the college. A selection committee of the director of athletics, the Athletic Advisory Board/Captains Council, and current Panther Hall of Fame members will choose a maximum of three people for induction. A plaque with the inductee's picture and description of his or her achievement will be displayed at the College. There are currently nine members of the Panther Hall of Fame, with Jaime (Fisher) Alsheimer the most recent inductee in 2010. To be eligible, a former student must have participated in a sport for at least one year, completed his or her academics at the College in good standing, and been out of TC3 for at least five years. Coaches and contributors must have an affiliation with the athletics department for at least five years.
Nominations should include a letter explaining the nominee's accomplishments while at TC3 or beyond and reasons why the nominee is deserving of the honor. Nominees will be notified by the director of athletics and the selection committee will begin review of the nominations early in the spring semester. Contact the athletics department at 607.844.8222, Ext. 4492 or athletics@TC3.edu for more information.
