Fixing course replication problems

(We suggest that you print this page.)

The following instructions should be followed if you find that either you or your students are not receiving documents properly:

A. Remove date and time:

  1. On your Notes workspace, click once on your course icon..

  2. Open the File menu and select Replication/Settings. A dialogue box will open.

  3. Click on the icon called Other on the left of the dialogue box.

  4. You will see a text box under the text that reads, "Only replicate incoming documents saved or modified after:".

If there is something in the text box, delete it by selecting it and pressing the [Delete] button on your keyboard.

If there is already nothing in the text box, you have some other problem, and should contact the TC3's Educational Techology Services (extension 4357 or 4297).
or the SUNY Learning Network Help Desk (800-875-6269, 2, 0).

  5. Click OK.

B. Force replicate to "BufApp01" server:

  1. Right click on the course icon to bring up the context sensitive menu.

  2. Select Replicate from the menu. A dialogue box will open.

  3. Select the option that reads, Replicate with options.

  4. Click OK. Another dialogue box will open.

  5. The following "path" needs to be entered in the text box, after the term "Replicate local with":

    BufApp01.sln.suny.edu/SLN

  6. Click OK and the course should begin to replicate.

  7. When the replication has finished, a window will appear that says "Replication Statistics" (it may show that you sent and/or received some items). Click OK to close the Window.

C. Replicate again, using the standard method:

  1. Go to the Replicator page.

  2. Click on the button next to your course that shows two arrows, pointing both right and left.

  3. Under "Preffered Server" choose the option "BufApp01.sln.suny.edu/SLN" and click OK to close the window.

  4. Click the Start button and replicate to insure that your Replicator is working correctly.
