Excel is a spreadsheet program, which is really a glorified table that has many features that standard tables in Word do not have. Excel provides many features for work with numbers and graphs. It can be very useful for faculty who wish to create a custom grade book. It is also very useful for tracking any kind of student work as well as other student attributes that you wish to record.
