Using Microsoft Design Gallery Live to access free Clipart
Locating the desired image; saving it to your computer
- Go to Microsoft's Clip Art and Media home page.
- Fill in the "Search for:" text box with one or more keywords for your search.
- The other boxes may remain blank, or you can narrow your search by selecting an option from the "Search in:" and/or the "Results should be:" text boxes.
- Click on the "Go" button.
- Click on the desired image to view the image "Preview".
- Right click on the image in the Preview box, and select "Save Picture as" from the drop-down menu.
- You may now save the image file onto your computer. You may wish to change the file name to something more recognizable. Do not change the image type.
NOTE: If you are not sure how to locate files on your computer, you may wish to save it onto your Desktop.
Copying the image; pasting it into your application
- Locate the image file and double click on the file name or its icon.
- The file will open in a graphics program (probably Microsoft Photo Editor).
- Open the Edit menu of the graphics program and select Copy (or press [Ctrl] [C] on the keyboard).
- Go to the application in which you want to place the image, open it's Edit menu and select Paste (or press [Ctrl] [V] on the keyboard).
