 Instructions for "Smart Classroom" AV Equipment
Ceiling Mounted LCD Projector
- The remote control unit for the projector must be checked out from and returned to the Media Services desk (Room 244).
- Turn on the projector by pressing the green highlighted "ON" button on the upper right of the remote control unit.
- When finished, press the red "STANDBY" (OFF) button on the upper left of the remote control unit twice.
To preserve lamp life, it is VERY IMPORTANT to leave the projector in "STANDBY" mode when not in use.
- After the projector is turned, on it will take about 30 seconds for the lamp to warm up to its maximum brightness.
- To display the computer, choose Input 1 on the remote control unit.
To display the VCR, choose Input 3 on the remote control unit.
Note: it takes a few seconds for the projector to reset to the chosen input.
Resident Computer
- Audio volume through the room speaker system is controlled with the computer’s internal volume control.
- Make sure computer is turned off when exiting the classroom.
- The computer operating system is Windows XP.
- The computer is connected to the Internet through the college’s network.
- The computer can be used separately from the ceiling projector.
Laptop Computers
- Individual laptop computers may be used with the ceiling projector by connecting the laptop by 15-pin VGA cable (available from Media Services) to Input B on the computer switchbox.
- The switchbox is located on the table with the resident computer.
- Press the Input B button to switch from the resident computer to the laptop. The room speaker system will not play audio from the laptop.
VCR
- The VCR will play through the ceiling projector and/or the resident TV monitor. The TV need not be turned on to play the VCR through the ceiling projector.
- To view the video image from the VCR, choose Input 3 on the projector's remote.
- VCR volume is controlled by the rotary volume switch on the wall, directly above the computer input wall plate in the room.
