Instructions for Technology Operations in Room 210B
To lower (or raise) the projection screen:
- The screen "UP/DOWN" switch is located at the end of the blackboard behind the podium.
To control volume
- The amplifier is in the front of the cabinet (beneath the VCR). It controls the sound level for the VCR and for a laptop computer if used with the sound cable. Knob #4 controls the VCR and knob #5 controls the laptop sound.
- The "in house" computer sound level is controlled with the speaker icon on the desktop.
To turn the projector on
- To turn the projector on, stand directly in front of the projector, aim the remote at the projector and press the "ON" button in the upper right corner of the remote. You will know that you have successfully pushed the "ON" button when you hear the fan turn on.
- The projector will take about 30 seconds to warm up and show the display on the screen.
To turn the projector off
- When you are finished you must turn the projector off.
- Do this by pressing the "OFF" button on the top left of the remote twice.
Selecting input
Select one of the "INPUT" buttons toward the bottom of the remote, and press the desired button:
| Input #1: | The lectern computer. |
| Input #2: | A laptop computer, if connected.
When using a laptop computer with the system, plug the VGA 15 pin cable marked "LAPTOP" into the appropriate video port on your laptop. If you want sound, plug the "LAPTOP SOUND" cable into the headphone jack on your laptop. Then turn on the laptop and, using the remote, select "Analog Computer2". Adjust the sound with the #5 knob on the mixer/amplifier underneath the VCR in the cabinet. |
| Input #3: | VCR or Document Camera
After pressing the Input #3 button, use the push button video switch box to select either the VCR or the Document Camera. The video switch box is located in the rear left of the lectern. |
| Input #4: | This does nothing. Do not press this nor any other buttons on the remote, except for Input #1, Input #2, and Input #3. |
If you mistakenly press any other button on the remote, try turning off the projector and starting over from the beginning.
