iPhones and Education: An Artists’  Perspective"
For better or worse, you will own a smart mobile device if you do not already own one.
This presentation is about what my students and I are discovering about iPhones  (smart mobile devices) and how they are currently being used in the New Media Capstone class.

"The Ad-Astra Master Scheduling System"
Astra Schedule software functions as a central calendar for events, classes, rooms & service providers.  This session will provide a demonstration of the software along with an update on the overall project to improve scheduling and space utilization on campus.

"Dialogue on the High School to College Transition"
A large number of students enter college unprepared, and are thus less likely to earn a degree. What are some ways that community colleges can help ease the transition of students to college and increase their chances of success? This will be an open discussion of current and potential collaborations with area high schools to improve the preparation of students for college. We look forward to hearing your ideas!

"Advisors:  Get Ready for Registration Day!"

Registration Day is coming up on April 15th. Katrina and Janet will share information about helping your advisees prepare for Fall. And, they will share tips about taking a proactive approach with advisees who are exhibiting signs of academic difficulty.  Please bring all your questions.

"The Woods Are For Men"
John will speak about the development of “traditional” gender roles among tribal peoples.  Historically, the geographical landscape of the Haudenosaunee has been culturally demarcated into two “places”--“the Woods,” the “place” for men, and “the Clearing,” the “place” for women.  And for generations now, the Haudenosaunee have been struggling to keep their “gender roles” unpolluted from the cultural mores of the westernized peoples that encroach upon them.

"A Kill-a-Watt Loan Program at TC3"

Introduction of the Kill-a-Watt metering tool for energy savings awareness in your home or office, as well as ideas for using the meters in your classroom to apply math and science skills while introducing environmental awareness. A Roundtable for Adjunct Instructors:

"The Writing & Research Center Listening Tour"
Join us for a conversation about the joys and pitfalls of teaching writing and research. Barbara and Jose have been collaborating for about two years now, listening to teachers talk about writing and research and developing their program to support the concerns they hear. This will be an opportunity to share your concerns, as well as your successes, maybe learn about some resources you didn't know were available for you...and, mainly, talk with teachers about teaching. If you don't teach writing and research as part of your core content don't let that keep you away.
