Instructional Technology and Learning Resources of Tompkins Cortland Community College adheres to all United States copyright law. Illegal copying of any material is not allowed on the premises. Employees of the Division will not knowingly infringe the rights of copyright holders. These employees are authorized to refuse services if it is determined that such practices are likely to involve a copyright violation. Liability for willful infringement of copyright law rests with the individual making the copy.
According to the 1988 revision of the Federal Copyright Law everything that a person produces in tangible form is legally copyrighted, regardless of whether or not any copyright statement is attached.
Typically permission must be received in writing from the copyright holder of an item before it can be duplicated in any form, or provided for public display or use in the classroom, with the exception of the allowances of the Fair Use Guidelines.
