15 Dec: Grades will be posted by midnight Thursday. When that is done, I’ll update this Web page and send a broadcast letter to the class.

1 Dec: Solutions to the Chapter 11 quiz are now on line.

30 Nov: In the solution to question 1 of the Chapter 10 quiz, I corrected a typo and added a common mistake in the requirements check.

24 Nov: Solutions to the Chapter 10 quiz are now on line.

3 Nov: Solutions to the Chapter 9 quiz are now on line.

27 Oct: Solutions to the Chapter 8 quiz are now on line.

21 Oct: Sharp-eyed students found mistakes in the quiz solutions: 0.0043% should be 0.0043, and 251,4 should be 251.4. I’ve corrected the Web page.

20 Oct: Solutions to the Chapter 7 quiz are now on line.

13 Oct: Solutions to the Chapter 6 quiz are now on line.

12 Oct: I added common mistakes to the answers to questions 5, 6, and 7 of the Chapter 5 quiz.

6 Oct: Solutions to the Chapter 5 quiz are now on line, and the Chapter 6 Lecture Notes were updated as discussed in class.

29 Sep: Solutions to the Chapter 4 quiz are now on line.

23 Sep: I made two corrections in the solutions to the Chapter 3 quiz.

18 Sep: The Chapter 4 Lecture Notes were thoroughly revised.

16 Sep: Please see the letter to the class to help you see the forest for the trees after last night’s class and to prepare for next week’s. I’ve also edited the Chapter 3 Lecture Notes.

15 Sep:

• There was no Chapter 2 quiz tonight, and homework was not inspected. At the end of class I handed out the quiz I had planned, for your use in testing your own understanding. The Solutions are on line.
• Solutions to the take-home quiz and the Chapter 1 quiz have been updated.

1 Sep: Welcome to MATH200! For class you need

• Sullivan, Michael, Fundamentals of Statistics (Pearson Prentice Hall, 2008) — Either buy the printed textbook, or if you’re really comfortable reading a whole textbook online you can buy just the Student Access Kit and access course number brown90824 at coursecompass.com. You need one or the other, not both. Yes, you really do need to read the textbook in addition to attending class.
• any model TI-83 or TI-84. Buy on price; the few additional statistics features in the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition are not significant for our class. (If you have a TI-89, TI-92, or Voyage 200, please see the Web page Can I Use a TI-89 for Statistics Class?)
