Why Study at TC3

We prepare students

Tompkins Cortland is a college of the State University of New York. We are accredited by the New York State Education Department and the Middle States Association.

Our curriculum prepares students for careers in the global marketplace, particularly in business administration, accounting, hotel and restaurant management, sport management, computer forensics, engineering science, communications, electronics, and computer information systems. We recognize that skills learned here must be applied successfully around the world. Many of our 39 degree programs prepare students for transfer to a four-year college or university. Transfer agreements spell out specific requirements to over 35 institutions.

The college is located in a culturally diverse community in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Our neighbors include Cornell University, known worldwide as a leading research institution; Ithaca College, known as one of the best private colleges in the United States; and SUNY Cortland, a sister institution in the State University system. Their presence shapes our community as progressive, diverse, and culturally rich.
