Mimi Ansbro
Professor of Business Administration
Mimi coordinates TC3’s Disney College Program. She has worked in hotels, restaurants, and travel agencies and holds a B. S. degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University and an M. A. in Travel Administration and Tourism Development from The George Washington University. With professional interests focusing on quality customer service, experiential learning, and international education, she gets great satisfaction helping students to learn from their experiences at the Walt Disney World® Resort.
Colleen Armstrong
Assistant Director of Admissions/International Student Admissions Coordinator
Colleen coordinates the international student admissions process and the issuance of visas.; She received two A.A.S. degrees from Tompkins Cortland Community College, one in Secretarial Science and one in Business Administration. Colleen has worked in various positions in the Admissions Office since 1985.
Robin Hinchcliff
Chair of English as a Second Language (ESL) Department
Robin has been the chair of the ESL department since 2006, and has worked at TC3 since 1997. With a B.A. from Kirkland College and her M.S. Ed. From Elmira College, Robin brings a strong history of teaching excellence and community involvement to our global team. She is the academic advisor for all enrolled ESL students.
Jorge Huayhuaca
Director of Global Programs Development
Jorge has developed a wide variety of the global initiatives programs in his tenure at TC3. Starting in the business department as an instructor, Jorge became a full-time director in the global department beginning in 1994. With his B.A. from Cornell, Jorge continues to be an advocate for continued growth of our international initiatives throughout the College.
Jenna Lenhardt
Global Initiatives Coordinator
Jenna oversees the variety of Global Initiatives projects, with a focus on study abroad, experiential education, international student visa compliance, and program administration. She received her B.A. from University of Buffalo in Sociology, with a minor in Women’s Studies, and her M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Appalachian State University. She has been working at TC3 since September 2008.
Walter Poland
Vice President of Global Initiatives
Walter has been working at TC3 from the day it opened in 1968, and was dean of students until he assumed the role of vice president in Summer 2008. Walter has an A.A. from Corning Community College, a B.A. from LeMoyne College, and an M.S. from Syracuse University. He has been part of a wide variety of national and international associations that has helped him develop and grow global initiatives at TC3.
Melinda Slawson
Global Education Project Coordinator
Melinda coordinates the administration of our ESL special programs, develops international student support programming, and supports the ongoing growth of international student involvement and engagement at TC3. She has a TESOL certificate from the Tennessee Foreign Language Institute, and an M.A. in French from the University of Oregon. She began working in the area of international education in 1997. She joined the TC3 team in July of 2008.
Barbara A. Thayer
Administrative Assistant
Barb has been working for Tompkins Cortland Community College since November 1994. She earned an A.A.S. from Tompkins Cortland Community College May 1995 with High Honor, received the Classified Staff Merit award in 2003 and 2008, the Chancellor’s/Trustees’ Award for Excellence in Classified Service in 2009, and the Office Management Advisory Board Member for 2011. Barb supports all the various global initiatives program and staff.
