![]() Workshop ElementsCultural DiscussionsDuring this segment, participants will discuss the cultural differences in various aspects of life in the United States. Topics will include work; family; primary, secondary and post secondary education; government and community. Cultural ExpeditionsDuring this segment, participants will experience first hand various aspects of daily life in the U.S. Trips will include a grocery store, public library, bank, school, living situations (apartment, single family home, etc.) Lunch & LearnDuring this segment, participants will meet and talk with a variety of people from our community. These people will include parents, businesspersons, medical professionals, educators, journalists and government/legal professionals. Off–Site AssignmentsDuring this segment, participants will take on the role of U.S. citizens, living the life of individuals/groups who are planning a vacation, opening a checking account, registering for school, choosing and buying a ticket to a cultural event, etc. Program OptionsAny of the program elements may be changed to reflect the specific learning needs of the participants. For instance, engineering professionals may choose to invite only other professionals to the Lunch & Learn element, and may want the cultural expeditions to focus on engineering venues. |
