Adult Students Nationwide

• Less than one quarter of college students in the United States are between 18 and 22 years old and live on campus.
• 6.5 million college students are over the age of 25.
• About 70 percent of adult students take courses part time and about 70 percent pursue a degree.
• Nearly half of adult students are age 40 or older, and 16 percent are age 50 or older.

• One out of three students is older than age 30.

• The average age of part-time students is 32.
• About 400 students attending classes at TC3 are older than forty and nearly one hundred of them are older than fifty.
• One third of adult students study full time and two thirds study part time.
