Admissions Procedure for Ex-Offenders

If you have even been convicted of a felony, State University of New York law requires that applicants that have a conviction record must submit a copy of that record and a letter of recommendation from a parole/probation officer.

Please do not be discouraged by this request – New York State Correction Law prohibits discrimination against individuals convicted of previous offenses and SUNY encourages students like you to take appropriate steps to achieve productive lives. However, each SUNY campus reserves the right to make decisions about admitting applicants whom they consider to present an unreasonable risk to public safety.

All documentation is considered confidential and should be sent to:

      170 North Street
      Dryden, NY 13053-0139

If you have any questions, please contact the admissions office at 607.844.6580.
