Welcome to the Counseling Department

The Office of Counseling, Career, and Transfer Services is a place where professional staff can assist you in your journey toward reaching your goals. Individual personal counseling, career development, academic support, employment services, and college transfer are some of the things we do.

We're located in room 216, at the top of the staircase at the front of the college (yellow area). Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Evening appointments may be available if requested in advance. All services are free and confidential. To make an appointment with a counselor, stop by our office in room 216 or call 607.844.8222, Ext. 4261.

Mission Statement

The mission of this department is to provide excellent services and maintain professional connections which assist students in the following areas:

  • clarifying their career, educational and personal goals
  • learning appropriate coping and adapting skills
  • learning about themselves in relation to others, their work, and their roles in the local and global community
  • obtaining appropriate educational and career goals
  • learning how to seek and obtain employment that is consistent with their career goals

Fulfilling Mission

The department will accomplish its mission through the provision of one-on-one counseling and advisement, group workshops or presentations, and through collaboration with program faculty, college staff and the community.
