Karl Madeo

Director of CollegeNow  (contact)

Karl Madeo, Director of CollegeNow Karl joined CollegeNow after teaching English, social studies, and video production for over 20 years at the Lehman Alternative Community School in Ithaca, where he also served as curriculum coordinator for the English department. Karl brings his years of experience in public education and his background in collaborative decision making to the CollegeNow team.

In recent years Karl has also worked as a technology specialist for the media literacy work done by Project Look Sharp at Ithaca College. He was a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar participant at Yale University, and has been a presenter at regional and national conferences, including those sponsored by the Alliance for a Media Literate America and The Annenberg Institute for School Reform. Karl has B.A. and M.A.T. degrees in English from Binghamton University. He sees his role with CollegeNow as an extension of his ongoing commitment to quality education and opportunity for young people.

Victoria Zeppelin

Victoria Zeppelin, Tech Prep DirectorVictoria Zeppelin assists the director in growing partnerships with regional public school systems. She is responsible for planning professional development opportunities for concurrent enrollment instructors and school counselors. Victoria also coordinates activities related to Career Pathways, a program federally funded by the Perkins Act to help high school students gain experience and coursework in preparation for college and careers. In this capacity, she works collaboratively with career and technical education teachers, local industry leaders, and faculty to align high school programs, curriculum, supplies, and equipment with college and industry standards, as well as organize activities for students to explore careers and college.

Victoria came to this position after teaching secondary school science in the local area. She attended Cornell University as a National Merit Scholar, graduating with a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's in agriculture. As an undergrad, she co-founded the Cornell Student Farm in order to create contextual learning for fellow students. She completed her NYS teacher certification at SUNY Cortland. She sees a blend of experiential and traditional education as a key to career exploration, lifelong-learning, and a satisfying, productive career.

Renae Moore

Concurrent Enrollment Coordinator  (contact)

Renae Moore, Concurrent Enrollment CoordinatorRenae is a native of Cortland and a TC3 alumna. She graduated from TC3 with a degree in executive office technology in 1991. She has worked for the college since 1991, starting in the word processing center and later working as the registration secretary with the non-credit open enrollment programs, which provided training for local businesses and industries. Renae has coordinated concurrent enrollment for the past nine years.

Renae coordinates our concurrent enrollment program with local high schools, and supports CollegeNow initiatives that reach outside of New York state. Renae is known for her outstanding service to our local schools and was the recipient of the 2008 Trustee's Award for Excellence in Classified Service.

Rhonda Kowalski-Oltz

Rhonda Kowalski-Oltz, CollegeNow SecretaryRhonda came to TC3 in 2005 after several years at a local business working in sales and marketing. Rhonda is a Dryden High School graduate, where she participated in both Tech Prep and the concurrent enrollment program. She also attended Ithaca College as an English major. She continues to be involved in the Dryden School District through the Dryden Lions Athletic Club and is a published poet.

Rhonda coordinates the CollegeNow Online program, certificates of residency for CollegeNow, and maintains the CollegeNow web site.
