M.F.A. Creative Writing, Full Sail University
B.S. Television and Radio Production, Empire State College of New York

Chrissy Guest joined Tompkins Cortland Community College in 2006 with 15 years of experience in broadcast television. She spent most of her time behind the camera as a photojournalist and director at NewsCenter 7 in Ithaca, and has held the titles of director/technical director at the ABC affiliate WSYR NewsChannel 9 in Syracuse, as well as art director and news assignment editor at WIXT CBS in Syracuse. Chrissy has covered local and national news events, and was selected as the only photojournalist to document then-First Lady Hillary Clinton’s visit to Ithaca.

She continues to work in scripted and broadcast television, producing sitcoms and web series. She completed her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Full Sail University, where she earned the honor of salutatorian – all while teaching full-time at TC3. She has also received two course director awards for screenwriting.

At Tompkins Cortland Community College, Chrissy continues to develop new curriculum for the Broadcast Production program and the Digital Cinema degree program. She directs and oversees production of a national PBS cooking show, The Sweet Life with Chris Xaver, which also serves as a practical laboratory for students. She created and leads an immersion program that gives TC3 students the opportunity to study and intern in Hollywood. She also leads a documentary film study abroad course in partnership with the Florence Art Institute in Italy.
