6 Use Schedule Search for electives

A student exempted from ENGL 100 must substitute a three credit liberal arts elective. The course should be selected in consultation with the student’s advisor.

ART 233: Per New Media Department approval, Creative Writing – Screenwriting majors do not need to complete ART 117 or ART 270 prior to enrolling in ART 233.

Creative Writing majors may concurrently enroll in ENGL 101 and ENGL 102.

Foreign Language Sequences: ARAB I & II, Arabic I & IICHIN 101 & 102, Mandarin Chinese I & II; FREN 101 & 102, French I & II; FREN 201 & 202, Intermediate French I & II; GERM 101 & 102, Beginning German I & II; ITAL 101 & 102, Italian I & II; RUSN 101 & 102, Russian I & II; SPAN 101 & 102, Beginning Spanish I & II; or SPAN 201 & 202, Intermediate Spanish I & II.

Liberal Arts & Unrestricted Electives: ENGL 103, ENGL 108, ENGL/SOCI 218, ENGL 256, and ENGL271 are recommended.
