A student exempted from ENGL 100 must substitute a three credit liberal arts elective. The course should be selected in consultation with the student's advisor.

CAPS Electives: CAPS 100, 105, 111, 113, 121, 123, 131, 133, 141, or 152 recommended.

ENGL 102 or ENVS 105: Students intending to transfer to SUNY Cortland should take ENGL 102.

FITN 102 and FITN 216: A student who can demonstrate the swimming proficiency required for FITN 216 Lifeguard Training, or who can provide documentation of a valid/current lifeguarding certification from a national agency may substitute an Outdoor Activity Elective. A waiver must be approved.

Outdoor Activity Electives: FITN 109, FITN 110, FITN 119, FITN 120, FITN 166, FITN 221, RECR/FITN 160, RECR/FITN 161, RECR/FITN 162, RECR/FITN 163, or RECR/FITN 164.

Restricted Recreation Elective: Choose from RECR 276, 284, or 285.

Unrestricted Elective: CAPS 121, 123, 131, 133, 141; or HLTH 126; or an Outdoor Activity Elective recommended.

*Grade of C or better is required
