Baker Center for Learning
Computer Software

The Baker Center computers are networked and are fully equipped with Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2010 products. These computers also run tutorial software to help you brush up with various subjects. All of our computers are also equipped with Premier AT, an adaptive technology suite that includes a talking word processor. Students who bring in their own headphones can listen to what they have written using Premier AT. This is one of the best ways to edit work and improve writing skills. TC3 students are also able to download Premier AT onto their own computers for free! The service desk on the first floor of the Baker Commons can provide you with more details. If you are in need of other specialized software, see our Adaptive Technology page.

Inspiration software is also available on all Baker Commons computers. This software is fantastic for creating outlines, concept maps, and organizing ideas. It also can electronically convert mapped thoughts into formal outlines!

The intended use of Baker Commons computers is academic, meaning that work on these machines should be related to an on-going TC3 course.

The Baker commons is staffed with qualified tutors who can help you with anything from very basic beginning level computer skills to computer programming in Visual Basic, C++, etc. View tutoring schedules for each subject.
