Materials and SuppliesWhere can I find important academic dates (drop dates, grade due dates, semester holidays, etc.)?You can view important dates using TC3's Online Calendar! Once you reach the calendar's site just navigate through the months to view the entries. Note: If you wish to view the Academic Calendar only, choose 'Academic' from the drop-down list (the one that has the words 'Choose Calendar' in it) near the top right of the calendar screen and click the 'Go' button. What is IQ.Web?IQ.Web is an online academic tool that is essential to all instructors at TC3. IQ.Web gives you 'anytime, anywhere' access to your class rosters (past and future semester rosters in addition to current), attendance sheets, and student grades. You must have an IQ.Web account to submit your grades, download and print attendance rosters and class lists; the college does not provide these services for you - you must do them on your own. Make sure to complete your FERPA form immediately upon hiring so that you receive your IQ.Web account. What is TC3's attendance policy?Although specific class attendance policies are up to the individual instructor, attendance records must be maintained in order to provide needed information for financial aid and other administrative offices. Last dates of attendance will be needed for all students even if they have withdrawn from your class, as well as students receiving a failing or incomplete grade. You will need to submit attendance reports through your IQ.Web account. What do I do if I need to cancel a class?You should contact the college (ask for the suite secretaries office or academic affairs office) as soon as possible if you must cancel your class (607.844.8211). A notice will be posted on the college web site as well as outside the classroom. If the college is closed due to inclement weather, this will be posted on the college web site (http://www.tc3.edu). If you need to cancel an evening class, please contact the college (607.844.8211) before 2:30 p.m.; if you report the cancellation after that time, it then becomes your responsibility to personally contact your students. What radio/tv stations announce TC3 closings?Baldwinsville: WSEN 92.1 FM, WFBL105 AM When do I sign my contract?Your teaching contract will be emailed to your TC3 Groupwise account within the first week of class. Please respond promptly and as directed for payroll to be processed in a timely manner. How do I get an E-mail account through the college?You can Request an E-mail Account. In the E-mail request, please include the following information: your first name, middle initial, last name, a current E-mail account, and a phone number where you can reached. Once this E-mail has been sent, an account will be generated for you. When the account is ready, you will be contacted by Amy Edmond (607.844.8222, Ext. 4281) and an E-mail orientation appointment will need to be made (15-20 minutes). You must attend this orientation on campus. If you have a problem getting to campus between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. weekdays, please indicate so when you are contacted. Do I get an office?If you would like a space to work between classes or meet with students, please contact Amy Edmond, Adjunct Office, room 122, 607.844.8222, Ext. 4281. Locked storage spaces may also be available. How do I print out my class rosters?To view/print your class rosters, you must have an IQ.Web account (which is obtained by completing the FERPA form). If you already have an IQ.Web account, log into IQ.Web and click on the "View Class Lists" link on the blue side bar, then, on the next screen, choose the semester that you wish to view and click the "Submit" button. You may now view/print your class rosters, download/print attendance rosters, and, E-mail individual students or the class as a whole. How do I request a video to show to my class?Contact media services (607.844.8222, Ext. 4353) or visit the media desk (room 244) to request videos or to schedule overhead projectors, roving computers, video carts, graphing calculators, etc. Do all classrooms have VCRs?Not all of TC3's classrooms have TV/VCR units built-in, but many of them do. Once you know what classroom you are teaching in (your class roster in IQ.Web will indicated your classroom), you can visit the room to see if a TV/VCR unit is included. If your classroom does not come with a TV/VCR, you may schedule a roving TV/VCR cart from Media Services for the day(s) you need it (607.844.8222, Ext. 4353). Media services will handle the delivery and pick-up of the roving unit! Can I have a web site for my course?TC3 is considered to be one of SUNY's more technologically innovative campuses. We highly encourage you to incorporate online components to your in-class courses. For instance, ETS (Educational Technology Services) can provide you with an online "course area" where can post your course outline, important web resources, and, conduct online topic discussions. Your students can then access these resources 'anywhere, anytime'. If you are interested in having ETS set up an online course area for you, please contact Bob Yavits, 607.844.8222, Ext. 4357. Are there any computers on campus that I can use?You may use the computers in the adjunct office area or the College Teaching Center (CTC). Please be advised that you will need to abide by the college's computer use policies. Can I receive discounts on computer software and hardware through the college?As a member of TC3's faculty, you can receive certain minimal discounts on computer software and hardware through the college bookstore, and The Computing Center (an area business through which TC3 purchases most of its equipment). You may also receive general educational discounts on software and hardware through many educational technology businesses. Where do I get a parking sticker?You can receive a parking sticker for Lot #5 from the safety and security office. You will need to fill out a simple form. How can I make photocopies for my students?If you wish to do your own photocopying, a card will be issued to you for copying purposes (you may get a card from Teresa Davis, room 229). The duplicating center and machines are located in room 240. Clerical support by the faculty suite secretaries is given. They can assist you in filling out work orders and will let you know when the work will be completed. How do I open an account at the cafeteria?Once you've completed all of your employment forms for Human Resources you will receive an ID voucher. This voucher will allow you to receive a TC3 ID card that will allow you to create an account at the TC3 cafeteria. How do I sign-up to use the fitness center facilities?TC3 makes its Fitness Center available to all faculty and students. State-of-the-art equipment includes Trotter treadmills, Tectrix bikes, Tectrix step climbers, Precor Elliptical Fitness Cross Trainer, Galileo Selectorized Weight Trainer, and a Badger Magnum Advantage Trainer. Please be aware that you may only use the pool during open swim times.
