Liberal Arts and Sciences – Women and Gender Studies

A.S. Degree

This program focuses on the study of women in society, the contributions of women to human culture, the experiences of women in other times and other cultures, and the issues raised for women and men by contemporary changes in women’s lives. The course work is academically enriching and challenging. An optional internship provides first-hand experience in dealing with social service, cultural, legal, health, governmental, or educational agencies that are concerned with issues and situations of women in society.

Career Options

While the curriculum for this program is designed primarily for transfer to a bachelor’s degree program, skills learned relate directly to some positions in the humanities and social sciences field.
