Donna Ryan

Class of 1974 and 1975

Title: Clinical research coordinator and pediatric instructor at the Duke University School of Nursing    
Background:Tompkins Cortland Community College proudly welcomed back alumnus Donna Ryan, ’74 and ’75, to deliver the commencement address to the Class of 2009. Donna actually graduated from TC3 twice, in 1974 with a degree in practical nursing and again in 1975 with a degree in nursing.

Bill Drew

Class of 1974

Title: Systems/Technical Services Librarian   
Background:In the casting about world of social networks, Bill Drew is a DJ of sorts, tucked away in his back library office leaning into his keyboard to fill Facebook, twitter, and his blog with chatter of the day, to ask questions, or simply to tell you Bill “won’t buy Kindle yet!” (needs wi-fi, and needs to be open to his preferred cell network.) There are a handful of people in every web-social circle who make a business of constant status updates, twitters and the like, but Bill’s posts lean heavily toward the useful and inquisitive, although he does let slip a few “going home, TGIF” to break up the tech chatter.

Sandy Eldred

Class of 1990

Title: Secretary to faculty at TC3
Hometown: Groton    
Background: Sandy Eldred has been secretary to faculty at TC3 since 1994 after working at Essex Structural Steel Co., Inc. in Cortland. She is a familiar face in the east side faculty wing, assisting students, faculty, and staff throughout the day.

Chris Julian

Class of 2004

Title: adjunct professor at TC3
Background: Chris Julian is a graduate of Binghamton University, and, following that degree, a 2004 graduate of TC3. He owns his own video production and editing business, Chris Julian Designworks, where he works on feature-length films, documentary films, and other projects. Julian also is an adjunct professor at TC3, teaching video editing and design.

Justine Lewis

Class of 2008

Title: Student, Ithaca College
Hometown: Newark Valley
Background: Justine was a Service Tradition of TC3 recipient, spent a semester in London as part of a human services internship, and concluded her TC3 experience by speaking to her class at the 2008 commencement ceremony, the first ever held in TC3’s new athletic facility. Upon graduating, Justine transferred to Ithaca College.

Tammy Sciera is the executive director of the J.M. McDonald Sports Complex in Cortland. After graduating from TC3, Tammy earned her bachelor’s degree and an MBA at Syracuse University.

Will Forney ‘94
Travel and Tourism

Mona and Will Forney are both members of the TC3 Alumni Association Board of Directors. Mona earned her business administration degree in 1983, while Will is a 1994 graduate of the travel and tourism program.

Jason van Staveren is a photography graduate of the class of 2004 and has continued his studies at Ithaca College. Jason is also a member of the TC3 Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Paul McCabe is a liberal arts and science-general studies graduate of the TC3 class of 2002. He continues with TC3 as an adjunct instructor. In addition, he is an accomplished playwright and musician.

Rebecca R. ("Becky") Johnson is an alum twice over for TC3. Currently she is employed at The CBORD Group, Inc. as a database maintenance specialist and the proud owner of two Eskimo dogs.
